What is FinTech?

Short for "financial technology," the term refers to companies that integrate advanced technologies into financial systems to make processes, financial transactions and the customer experience easy, accessible and secure for all. 

According to McKinsey, revenues in the fintech industry are expected to grow almost three times faster than those in the traditional banking sector between 2023 and 2028. In addition, continued digital banking adoption, the expansion of financial ecosystems globally, and the shift from hypergrowth to sustainable growth are reshaping the typical fintech business model. 

Fintechs need trusted, experienced communications leaders who can help tell their unique stories, engage employees and expand their brand presence and reputation.

About Dana 

Dana is a self-proclaimed Fintech Nerd. She is fascinated by the industry’s innovative thinking that shapes global economies, creates jobs and challenges the financial system. She combines her original thinking, collaborative abilities and corporate acumen to help her clients tell their fintech stories and build powerful communications strategies..

Her passion for fintech began at First Data (now Fiserv), where she helped the global Fortune 500 company launch its premier contactless payments solution and other high-profile product launches. Dana expanded her industry expertise while serving as corporate communications lead for Elavon, a wholly-owned subsidiary of U.S. Bank. In that role, she led all communications for the global payments company and collaborated with marketing teams to elevate its brand and reputation among key audiences. Dana also led multi-faceted communications efforts for the bank’s Payments Services division, where she spearheaded executive communications, directed national product launches and secured national media interviews.

Today, she works with a variety of fintech clients to develop communications strategies and tactics, including media outreach, internal communications, executive messaging, content creation, reputation management, and other client needs.

Dana has seen it all in fintech – from contactless payment devices, bitcoin, EMV chip cards, rewards programs, business payments, fraud and AML detection, real-time payments, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), e-commerce, wealthtech, and more. She understands the industry’s complexities and works with clients to tell their stories as clearly as possible, without complicated terminology and adhering to the industry’s evolving regulatory requirements.
